Performance Overview

The whole point of the MicroFit is what it removes. At 2.4 mm it is noticeably less intrusive than a bulky boil-and-bite guard, which makes breathing and on-pitch communication far easier — the two things players most often complain about when they stop wearing a gum shield.

Fitting is the usual heat-and-mould routine: warm water, a firm bite, and fingers and tongue used to press the material against the teeth and gum line. The recessed centre guide helps you get the alignment right first time. Note that Shock Doctor does not recommend this guard for wearers with braces — a brace-specific guard should be used instead.
