We supply leavers hoodies to schools, sixth forms, colleges and university societies across Cardiff, South Wales and the surrounding area. Leavers hoodies are made to your artwork and quoted per order — they are not sold through the website checkout.
Who we do these for
- Year 11 year groups — usually organised through the school office or head of year, often with the school paying or parents ordering individually.
- Sixth form and college leavers — typically organised by the students themselves, which brings its own problems around collecting money and chasing name lists.
- University courses, halls and societies — smaller runs, more design freedom, and usually a course or society name rather than a school crest.
How it works
- Enquiry — tell us the school, college or course, the year group, roughly how many people, and when you need them.
- Quote — priced per garment, based on the garment itself, the decoration method, how many print positions you want and the quantity.
- Artwork — send your crest or logo in the best quality file you have, plus the name list exactly as it should read. Vector files reproduce best.
- Proof and sign-off — one named person checks and approves. Nothing goes into production before that, because a printed garment cannot be unprinted.
- Size set — for larger groups we can provide a physical size set so people try garments on before ordering. Branded sizing varies enormously between manufacturers, and printed garments cannot be returned or resold. This step prevents most of the arguments.
- Production and delivery — delivered in bulk, or split into individually named bundles.
Decoration methods
Most leavers hoodies use a printed back design, often the year group's name list shaped into the year number. Print is the economical choice for detailed name lists. Embroidery is more durable and looks more premium, and suits a crest on the chest, but the stitch count makes it an expensive way to reproduce two hundred names. We will tell you honestly which is right for what you have in mind.
Ordering as students rather than through the school
Sixth form and university groups usually organise this themselves. The two things that go wrong are money and names: someone fronts the cost and then chases forty people for it, and the name list changes after artwork has been approved. Set a hard cut-off date for both, and tell the group that date is final. We can also set up individual ordering so each person pays for their own.
Order earlier than feels necessary
Decoration capacity is the bottleneck, not the garments. Every school and college in the country wants leavers hoodies in the same handful of weeks, and blank stock in particular colours and sizes runs out at the supplier. Enquiring a term ahead costs nothing.
Looking after them
Wash inside out, cool wash, no tumble dryer, and never iron directly onto the print. Tell the group that on day one and the hoodies will still look right at the end of the summer.
